Hedging your bets.
Just in case anybody else had the idea of using the surname of Boyd for their new winery, the Boyd Family have applied for 'fictitious business name statements' of every boring, but possible permutation for their eponymously named winery. I'd have stuck with 'Big Old Yellow Dog Winery', if they'd asked little old me. Or, is that little ol' me?

Funny.
I'm reading the story of Coca-Cola (research purposes). Amazing how that company in the early 1900s was froced to fend off the zillions of copycolacats with names that played around with coca and cola in a seemingly endless loop--and that was after they had been given the trademark.
I once tried to get a personalised plate at the DMV, to no avail. Who knew there were already people out there with the same lame sense of humour as me?
It could be little ole wine drinkin you!!!
classic! ha! love the odd insights you give into the world of CA wine... :)
