Happy Independence Day.

Dear Motherland,
Do not fret, I haven't forsaken you. However, I do like a good party. So, on this 4th of July, the anniversary of the United States of America's declaration of independence from merry old England, please forgive me for breaking bread and sharing wine with our colonial cousins.
Rule, Britannia!
Lots of love,
Vinogirl.
P.S. Oh...and God save the Queen!

Rather fittingly a new statue to Ronnie Reagan was unveiled today in Grosvenor Square. A true friend to Britain, unlike the current incumbent in the White House.

I suppose we must allow the Americans an excuse for a party - although having to get the cheese-eating surrender monkeys involved back then was a bit de trop. As I write, the crew of the USAAF aircraft carriers at (RAF) Lakenheath and Mildenhall are having a wild bonfire party with a lot of fireworks....either that or they are under attack by the Turnip Taleban!

Ron: I was having a good day until you mentioned the current US president.

LR: Love Motorhead!

Thud: Who me? Or her?

Affer: Love RAF Lakenheath, had my first burger with mayo there, yum! Also had my first, and last, iced tea!
