It's a boy!

Well, of course it's a boy. I already knew the new bundle of unmitigated joy due to be delivered into our family was going to be a male child, the first in almost a dozen years. What I didn't know was how tardy the little tinker was going to be. After a long delay, which necessitated changing my flight to extend my holiday by 5 days, my new nephew finally made an appearance...in 45 minutes. Seemingly he was making up for lost time!
Welcome to the world little one, your Auntie Vinogirl loves you very much.  Now, Veuve Cliquot all round!

He will be a good boy for his aunt/godmother.

Hope he likes the Veuve--that would be a good indicator.

I join in the toast. May your nephew be blessed with health and happiness!

Congratulations to the Thud Family and cheers to those not relegated to drinking milk! Now can we just dispense with the baby toys and get the youngster started with some vineyard tools?

Just want to say to any Celts on board: happy Belaine Day, or however you spell it.

Thanks everyone...he's a beautiful boy.

VM: I've already looked into a pair of mini Felcos :)

Thomas: It's Beltane and we did indeed watch the sunset last night, then had a bonfire and fireworks.

Congrats on the new addition to your family, Vinogirl. And sorry (or pleased, depending on how you view it) to hear that your stay in Blighty had to be extended.

My eldest son was a full 2 weeks and 2 days late. Actually, 2 weeks, then another 48 hours from being induced. It was purgatory, I can tell you. And it wasn't much fun for my wife, either! 21 years later, and he has still to master the art of punctuality..... ;-)

Leon: The weather has been fabulous, England is hard to beat when it doesn't rain.
Yikes, extending my stay by 5 days would have been a waste of time if my nephew had decided to take your worst-possible-scenario route!
