Today is the autumnal equinox.
I don't usually like to participate in an England versus USA spat, but I really, really dislike the word fall - it's so infantile.
Fear not little Orange Muscat grapes, you may look a little worse for wear, (but you taste great) for tomorrow we pick.

Generally, I agree with you about the use of certain words, but I'll take "fall" over "winter" any day, ba-da-bing.
Incidentally, autumn has fully developed in the Finger Lakes. Not more than 14 days ago we were in the 80s F. Those days are now gone for a long time to come. Today, my hands were cold as I held the dog's leash on our morning walk.
On the bright (?) side: Riesling is being harvested a full one month ahead of usual. Berry deterioration is a worry as sugars are sky-high... but so are acids, dangerously so.
Tomasso: A glorious 85 today, although slightly higher than normal humidity, all in all, pretty de rigueur for these parts.
And how is your pH?
Doesn't matter what the temperature outside is all summer, pH in the Flakes is usually rather low, unless your name is Gewurztraminer!
Tomasso: In my little corner of the Vinoworld pH tends to be high.
