What the...?

...it's May 22nd! Frost this morning: Hail this afternoon. Someone should tell Mother Nature that it's supposed to be spring in California!

Well, having lived in this so-called cool climate for 26 years, and having been growing grapes, other fruits, and vegetables over that time, and having carefully watched the changing growing season and harvest dates consistently, not to mention the other bushes and trees around me, I believe the climate is changing--at least it is changing here.

For the first time last year, I saw a pair of bobolinks in my meadow, and the Canada geese are choosing to hang around during winter for some reason. Plus, we have insects in summer now that never used to make it this far north.

To top it off, heating bills have been declining in frequency each winter for the past six.

Thud: I hope so too.

Kristi: Welcome...are you in Socal or Norcal?

Thomas: This will be our second cool summer in a row...not exactly a lot to base much of anything on really.

Thud & Monkey: You two just hush and enjoy that warm spell you are having in Blighty.

Vinogirl,

Strange things have happened here, weatherwise, for more than a generation.

I'm convinced that change is afoot. What it means I've no idea, but catching up on my reading, I find that this is not unusual.

We just had very cold winter and a warm spring....I think it's called weather, apparently it happens every year one way or another and has done for quite a while it seems.
