Jack's back.

Brrr! It was 20.5 F when I got up a little while ago. Everywhere is white with frost, it looks very pretty. The Vinodogs are curled up in bed, but I unfortunately have to go to work. It does mean, however, that I get to see how beautiful the Valley looks cloaked in a veil of frost. Poor me!

Thankfully this time of the year our vines are well into their winter dormancy. The only worry will be the effect of the cold temperatures on the new field grafted buds inserted by Vinogirl earlier this fall. The grapevine is such a resourceful plant in avoiding the worst of the weather and basking in the best. I can apply their message that during the winter, mild as it is in Napa, Vinogirl and I should head south to warmer climates!

Weston: So it was about -6C here...cold for California! Stay warm.

Vinomaker: It's all in Mother Nature's hands now...I'm just a Vinogirl!

What a lovely picture you paint! Was below 10F last night here. Thank goodness for my little fur hot water bottles, eh? Was a 2 dog night for us.

Unlike America, we have Man Made Global Warming. The recent expelling of a lot of hot air by our Chancellor and his Boss reulted in us hitting 62 Celsius in London.......

Phlegmfatale: I thought you meant real fur hotwater bottles for a second there :)

Affer: That's a lot of hot air for December.
