Vinsanity: Another new logo.

How about this Liverbird for Vinsanity's logo? Cool, eh?
A co-worker of mine at TWWIAGE is quite a good doodler - he is always scribbling away at something or other.  Taking advantage of  The Doodler's talent, I asked him if he could draw me a Liverbird with grapes. Of course, I first had to explain to him exactly what a Liverbird was, but, after a couple of internet searches, it didn't take him long to come up with this sketch of my newest feathered-friend.
Fierce looking, with a bunch of grapes in its beak and a picking knife in its claw, this Liverbird looks all set for harvesting action - a bit like me...yeah, right.

Looking sharp.

Did I mention that I love my new Vinsanity logo?  I love it so much that I decided I wanted a higher resolution image because, well, let's just say I have a couple of ideas.  So back to Fiverr.com I went.
Actually, I went straight back to Caroline W who originally designed my logo for me and in less than 12 hours I had myself a high resolution version (600 dpi).  Vinomaker still can't believe that such a service exists, for the paltry sum of an insignificant fiver, but my lovely, crisp logo is proof positive.
Fiverr has relaxed its rules on privacy in the 2 months since I first found Caroline W on Fiverr.com, which is great because I'm nosy and I wanted to ask Caroline some questions. Caroline Wooton does indeed live in England. She has a bachelor's degree in computer science and is working as a freelancer on Fiverr, offering her design services to customers worldwide, so that she can put herself through a master's programme.  I think that's great.  Caroline is willing to work for a measly $5.00 per 'gig' (that's just £3.00), dealing with people like me, so that she has a brighter future.
I can't recommend Caroline enough, she provided me with some of the best customer service I have ever received.  If anyone out there is in need of a logo, (NHW, you know you want one), contact Caroline and have her design you something fun and unique - all for a fiver!
I love my Vinsanity logo.

Vinsanity: New logo.

For quite a while now I have wanted a logo for Vinsanity.  I had tried to coax an old school friend who is an artist to design me a logo.  We've known each other since we were teenagers and I think he is one of the best cartoonists ever.  My old St. Augustine's pal definitely made RE classes more fun - you have not seen a simple line drawing of Mother Teresa until you've seen a line drawing of the nun as drawn by the Irreverent Illustrator.  Yikes!  Anyway, I never did get my logo.
Last week I was reading an article in Time Magazine (penned by Joel Stein) all about the new "sharing economy" we now live in.  Amongst some amusing tales about companies such as Uber, Airbnb and TaskRabbit there was the mention of a website called Fiverr.  I'd never heard of Fiverr before, but apparently for a mere five bucks you could find a person on that website who would design a logo for you.  When I told Vinomaker he was more than skeptical, "Five dollars, really?" he asked me.  Yup, just a fiver.
After finding a designer (who said she was in the UK and who shall remain anonymous because of Fiverr's strict rules), paying my $5 (and a 50¢ processing fee), and clumsily describing what I wanted by email, in less than 24 hours I had my very own logo.
Five dollars!!!  Totally worth it - for a free blog.
