This photograph could be from any previous year on Vinsanity. There is only so much that one can do with a photograph of a grapevine in bloom. But this is how the Pinot grigio (PG) vines looked today, flowering away to their heart's content. Cute, eh? They smell good too.
The Orange muscat vines are at about the same stage as the PG which seems a little bit behind this year. But, as I always say, Mother Nature is on her own schedule. Berry maturation will be approximately 100 days from now. I'm just along for the ride.

Always a good idea for a record of what a winemaker needs to know for the next planting, and may even show that we are in a time of global cooling! ;)
NHW: Vinsanity has proved to be an invaluable tool for checking past vintage's budbreaks, bloom, harvest etc. That is, in part, why I decided to resume blogging.
I heard an expert say that Napa will indeed cool down (and get increasingly windy) as the Central Valley heats up and sucks the marine layer further inland. QED: climate change sucks!
We have some too....super rare bumscratch grapes.
Thud: Never heard of that variety. Are they V. vinifera?
Look after my baby for me.
